Through its subsidiaries, Rand operates a fleet of self-unloading bulk carriers, conventional bulk carriers, articulated tug barge units, and two ship repair companies. The Company’s U.S. flagged vessels operate under the Jones Act, which reserves domestic waterborne commerce to vessels that are U.S. owned, built and crewed. Similarly, Rand’s Canadian flagged vessels operate under the Coasting Trade Act, which reserves domestic waterborne commerce to Canadian registered and crewed vessels.
